Color GuardIn the United States, the color guard carries the National Flag and other flags appropriate to its position in the chain of command. In addition to the flag bearers, who are positioned in the center of the color guard, there are two or more individuals who carry rifles and or sabers. This is a symbol that the flag will always be protected.
Unarmed ExhibitionIn an Unarmed Exhibition team, its routine may consist of intricate precision marching, along with various hand movements. Modified step team routines may be used, but participants should remember that often during competition, Exhibition Drill is evaluated by military judges.
PtPT team is meant to develop discipline, physical and mental toughness to enhance the leadership, critical thinking and overall self-confidence of all cadets. Cadets will compete in competitions against other unit teams, but may only compete against teams of the same gender.
OrienteeringOrienteering is a collection of skills that requires navigational skills, while using a map and compass to be able to navigate from point to point in diverse and usually unfamiliar terrain. Participants are given a topographical map, usually a specially prepared orienteering map, which they use to find control points.

DrillA high school drill team is a marching unit that performs routines based on military drill. These teams often perfect their proficiency and then choose to compete against other programs. These competitions are generally called "Drill Meets", and are held all across the state.
Armed ExhibitionArmed Exhibition Drill is a more free, elaborate, form of Regulation Drill. Exhibition Drill teams are also more colorful in uniform and weaponry. In an Armed Exhibition Drill event, participants are armed with weapons made safe or inert by removal of firing pins. Armament is totally devoid of all firing mechanisms for safety of participants and audiences alike.
Cyber PatriotCyber Patriot, created by the Air Force Association, features the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition for high school teams. The program increases the awareness of cyber security by delivering basic computer education, in an exciting format that enhances leadership, communication, and cooperation skills among its competitors.
