AFJROTC
MISSION: The mission of AFJROTC is to Develop Citizens of Character Dedicated to Serving their Nation and Community.
COURSES: All AFJROTC classes include Aerospace Science, Leadership Education, Drill and Ceremonies and Wellness. The curriculum plan is designed so that no student will repeat the same content over a 4-year period.
AEROSPACE SCIENCE (AS): Acquaints students with the elements of aerospace and the aerospace environment and introduces them to the principles of aircraft flight and navigation, the history of aviation, development of air power, contemporary aviation, human requirements of flight, cultural global awareness, geography, the space environment, space programs, space technology, rocketry, propulsion and the aerospace industry.
LEADERSHIP EDUCATION (LE): Develops leadership skills and acquaints students with the practical application of life skills, emphasizing discipline, responsibility, leadership, followership, citizenship, customs and courtesies, cadet corps activities, study habits, time management, communication skills, career opportunities, financial literacy, management skills and drill and ceremony.
WELLNESS PROGRAM: Wellness is an official and integral part of the AFJROTC program. The objective of the Wellness Program is to motivate cadets to lead healthy, active lifestyles beyond program requirements and into their adult lives.
CREDITS: 1 – General Elective
1 – HOPE/PE (requires successful completion of 2 years of AFJROTC)
1 – Performing Arts (requires successful completion of 2 years of AFJROTC)
